Over the Wall, the third story in Race to
the Altar, nurse Camela Eastman and her
firefighter boyfriend Joe arrive at Darlington Speedway for a working vacation.
Camela has more on her mind than medical emergencies. She's convinced that Joe
just needs the perfect set-up to "pop the question." But as she plans to set the
stage for Joe, zany jackman Tommy Garrett is making his own plans to win her
affections. Where Joe is logical and dependable, Tommy is spontaneous and
comical. Camela admits that Tommy, who travels on the NASCAR circuit 38 weeks
out of the year, could give her everything she's ever wanted...except his time.
When Tommy is critically injured in a pit accident, Camela's heart and mind go
to war.
O ver the Wall is just one of four exciting race-themed novellas
in Race to the Altar by Barbour Publishing. Now available from Amazon and Barnes

"Wisconsin Blessings"
Three modern Wisconsin women seek the blessings promised in
God's Word. Karlee Merrick has been left alone with two young children and
unanswered questions about her late husband’s business dealings. Just when she
is most vulnerable, two men vie for her attention. Hailey Austin has finally met
the perfect man, but she carries a terrible secret that keeps her from getting
close to any man. Paige Stern is a single, successful artist, but her life goals
change when she decides to adopt a handicapped child and her motives are
challenged by the most unnerving of men. Can peace come to each troubled heart?

Cathy and Becky met thirty
years ago when Becky’s oldest son was two and Cathy was pregnant with her first
child. They have supported each other through pregnancies, nursing babies,
homeschooling seven
children between the two of them, raising teens, marriage “growing pains”, the
joys and tears of kids leaving the nest, and becoming grandmothers. For years
they passed Christian novels back and forth and in 1993 decided to try their
hand at writing one. They had three books published by Heartsong Presents,
Beauty for Ashes
in 1994,
Garment
of Praise in 1996, and
Far
Above Rubies in 1997. Busy with families and ministries,
they took a break from writing for several years, but were drawn back to their
passion for sharing the Good News through fiction. In February of 2006, Barbour
Books published their three books in a 3-in-1 collection,
Wisconsin Blessings.
Their first novella, Over the Wall, part of
the four-in-one collection, Race to the Altar,
by Barbour Publishing, came out in
October of 2007 and another Heartsong Presents series, this
one set in Minnesota, will be available beginning in October of 2008. Cathy and Becky
appreciate your prayers for God’s leading in the future of their writing.
When asked why they write as a team, Cathy and Becky have many answers: They
get more work done in a shorter time, there’s never the feeling of isolation
that some writers experience, and there’s always someone to brainstorm with. But
the bottom line is this: It’s just simply more fun! Their upcoming Minnesota
series was conceived in the Nashville airport while waiting for
a delayed flight. Creating imaginary towns and friends is a great way to pass
the time!
